Central Montana Electric Power Cooperative is owned by the members it serves. Central's members are rural electric cooperatives who serve their members in Montana. These rural electric cooperatives formed Central, who is a wholesale power electric cooperative. Central provides the all of the wholesale electricity and bulk transmission services to all but one its purchasing members, Big Flat Electric Cooperative (EC), Hill County EC, Marias River EC, Park EC, Sun River EC, NorVal EC and Yellowstone Valley EC. Central provides wholesale electricity and bulk transmission services to the westernmost region of McCone EC. The remaining two members, Glacier EC and Vigilante EC are presently non purchasing members who receive service directly from the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). Both Coops helped form Central prior to becoming eligible through a cooperative effort to receive direct BPA service.
